Peggy Vogel-Nagengast (Director/Piano/Voice/ Parent/Child Music & Movement Classes & Orff Ensemble)
Peggy Vogel-Nagengast has a Master of Science in Education – Music from The College of Saint Rose and is a singer and songwriter. Peggy has always been active in the world of music, dance and theatre. She has taught music at the elementary and middle school levels, soloed in area bands and choirs, directed choirs, taught nursery school and in daycare and acted in community theatre. She now enjoys teaching at the studio and performing with the church choir. She continues to compose as inspired and premiers new songs at church. A life long resident of the Capital District, Peggy is the proud mother of three and grandmother of five. She is Orff certified and a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the Music Educator’s National Conference, the New York State School Music Association and the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce. Peggy has an incredible passion for life and is committed to spreading the joy and pleasure of music and movement.
Katie Nagengast (Guitar Accompanist/Recital Choreography & Tech)
Katie Nagengast began playing violin at the age of 9, completed all NYSSMA levels while in school and has studied with professionals including Ellen Madison and Ilana Blumberg. She began playing piano at the age of 12 and enjoys performing for weddings on either instrument. She began dancing at Tina Marie’s Dance Academy in the Capital Region at the age of 6 and has been a dance enthusiast ever since. She has performed with Park Playhouse and Park Playhouse II in Albany. During her four years at Ithaca College, she choreographed hip hop and tap for the dance club IC Unbound and Rhythm’N Shoes tap dance club. Katie studied voice in London with Jackie Barron and with Erica Steinhagen in Ithaca. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Psychology major and two minors, in Theatre and Women’s Studies. After graduation she tap danced with the NYC based company, Candor and has taught mixed-level Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre and Tap to teens and adults.
